After I cleaned up a bit I called our insurance company and made a claim.
I had to throw out our bedroom comforter and pillows. Also the dining room table and chairs, as well as rugs.
Then I went to work on the mirrors. These pictures were AFTER using Windex:
Made a couple of trips to the dry cleaners. At the condo, washed about 8 loads of sheets, towels, etc.
Much to my delight, our insurance covered the new a/c and furnace, the mold cleanup and the destroyed mirrors, table, chairs, rugs, comforter, pillows, lampshades, etc.
I'm tickled to say the condo is like NEW. Sparkling!
But, what a pain in the arse!
I returned home on Monday. Got a phone call yesterday that Dom's cancer is GONE! Zero M-Spike! Remission-Boy is BACK!
What a Christmas present!

Mold Issues at the Condo (part 2) Nan's arrival
After the workers finished up, I took a drive to the condo to check it out. What I had planned to be a 6-night trip turned into 13 nights.
I had no idea what I was going to walk into!
I called the mold guys and they removed all of their dehumidifiers.

Mold Issues at the Condo (part 1) The beginning.
I'm really looking forward to burning the yule log and saying goodbye to 2018. It was one thing after another!
I hadn't been to the condo since mid-September. Little did we know, but our a/c quit.
When the Majestic went in to bring balcony furniture inside in anticipation of the hurricane, they contacted us saying that we had a MOLD problem.
I had NO IDEA the extent of the damage.
This is what they mailed to us:
So, Dom called an a/c place and had them replace both our a/c and our furnace.
He also had to call a mold specialist to clean up.

Hurricane Michael's Destruction Photos in my Beloved PCB and Panama City
Hey, gang-
Things were very nerve-wracking here yesterday. Dom and I were safe and sound at our home in rural Mississippi. I did my 2 hours of volunteer work in the morning, then we rushed home to stay glued to the Weather Channel.
Apparently, our Majestic Beach Resort dodged the bullet. Not much damage. No problems with any of the condos. We did lose a huge a/c unit that blew off of the roof on the 23rd floor.
Things are chaotic. They're not allowing anybody into town... which is understandable.

Amy and Nan in PCB
Oldest and dearest Ohio childhood friend flew into PCB a couple of weeks ago. The timing was both GOOD and BAD.
Hurricane Gordon mucked up the water, but it eventually cleared up.
Luckily we got out of town just in the nick of time. Red Tide appeared the day after we left.
Dead fish, everybody coughing and spitting. We dodged that bullet, happily.
I lost all of my pictures but this one:
We had a blast. Did our beach daily, then The LIQ across the street for Happy Hour.
September is glorious. The kids are all in school. Nothing but playful adults!
We ate out all but 1 night. Went to Dee's Hangout, Saltwater Grill, Firefly, and H20 downstairs for Buffalo Wings.

12 Days on the Beach- and my New Raccoon Family
Hi, gang! As Dom is getting along so well, I felt comfortable enough to head to PCB for 12 days.
I was joined by a Tennessee girlfriend, Patricia for about a week. She and I lived it up with gift cards given to me for Carrabba's and Seafood Grill. She took me to Dee's Hangout twice. We had big fun- hadn't seen each other for more than a year. It goes without saying that we did Happy Hour at the LIQ across the street daily.
After she left, I spent my solitude on the beach, at the pool, and on my balcony. Didn't even leave the condo property.
The water was AMAZING! Some of the nicest that I've seen over the years!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Mama Raccoon brings her 4 babies every day for a meal. When I'm home, I'm constantly looking out the window for them. "Good Racoon Mommy".
When I'm not here, Dom feeds them when he thinks about it. "Bad Raccoon Daddy".
The female normally knocks on the door to alert me that they're hungry. Apparently, she was knocking and not getting a response. So, Dom is sitting across the room watching tv. Our of the corner of his eye, doesn't he see feet, then finally a head climbing up the screen window in the living room!
The adorable little shit knocked out the screen!
Dom proceeded to find a squirt gun, crack the window and blast her in the face.
"Mean Raccoon Daddy". (Kind of amusing, though)

A Quick Four-Night Visit to PCB
Dealing with Dom's health had kept me from visiting the condo. It had been over a year.
As his health has improved and he's getting around with his Rollator, Christine and I decided to bust a move to the beach.
The weather and water were both PRISTINE!
Front Beach Road is a mess. They've torn everything up. Surprisingly, traffic is moving, though. This top picture is a rendering of what's planned. This shows what it's going to look like at our condo when they finish.
Christine and I had our share of fun. Thanks to generous family and friends who we trust with the condo, we ate out every night using gift cards- Dee's Hangout, Carraba's, Saltwater Grill and the Firefly. OINK OINK.
And, of course, happy hour every afternoon at the LIQ across the street. One afternoon we went to a new brewery across the street for a couple of pints of craft beer with dear pal, Jimmy. NIVOL BREWERY. Nice place! http://www.nivolbrewery.com/
We spent each day on the beach. Heavenly!
Each night, Christine and I plugged in the "Disco Ball" and rocked out! Girls just wanna have fun!
