A Fun Week with My Big Brother

Brother Ric flew down from Ohio for a week to visit.

It was non-stop fun.

Took him to 4 local joints for seafood, burgers and beers.

One day, Richard McM brought a young guy over to Weed-Whack for 6 hours.  Dennis, Cheryl and their adorable little dog, Maggie joined us, too.  Dom and Ric went into Bogalusa to get a lot of Popeye's Chicken, dirty rice, red beans/rice and biscuits.

Friday was Dom's 72nd birthday, so Ric took the 3 of out for delicious steaks.

It was so sad to see him go home on Saturday.

Our Dear Richard Bearing Gifts for Dom

Our pal Richard McM really outdid himself.  When he learned that Dom's cancer returned, he came over with some politically incorrect flags to cheer Dom up.

They'll be flying high very soon.  (If it ever stops raining!)

Thanks, "Big Rich".  You're a true friend!

CLAMBAKE 2014

Our Clambake this year was a great success.  We all had big fun.

Joe and Ping brought a bottle of the new Jaegermeister Spice.  Chris brought a bottle of Cake Pinnacle Vodka.

The beer and booze flowed all day and night.

This year we ordered 300 Littleneck Clams.  In the clam steamer, we had the clams, leg quarters, sweet potatoes and sweet corn.

Meanwhile, Dom and Ping manned the grill with garlic smoked sausage and bbq chicken.

During halftime of our late Saints game, we moved outside for fireworks and a bonfire.  (Ping is a pyro!).

Later that evening, Ping worked her magic on us, giving massages.  I highly recommend her massage parlor in Pensacola.  She’s in the process of opening a second.  Ping has been in this country for only 4 years, and she’s already a citizen, as well as a business owner.  Joe’s “child bride” is something else.  We’re very proud of her.

When the boys woke up the next day, they found that our fireworks had started a fire in our woods.  Came within about 10 feet of Dom’s truck and a 5 gallon can of gas.

Dom spent all day soaking it. He was planning on bumming around with Chris all day, but was afraid to leave the house.

A Truly HAPPY St. Patrick's Day for Us

Blessed St. Patrick's Day!
From 'St. Patrick's Breastplate Prayer':

I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity;
By invocation of the same.
The Three in One, and One in Three,
Of Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord. Amen.

Well, gang..... Great news.  Dom had ZERO M-SPIKE.  He's now been in Complete Remission for 56 months!

We got the call yesterday morning.  This made our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration more special than usual!

I baked Oat Farls and Soda Bread.  Green Beer flowed. Had the usual Corned Beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots.  Dessert was my Bailey's Irish Cream Fudge topped with a layer of Jameson's Irish Whiskey Fudge.  Dessert Drinks were Bailey's and Jameson's on the rocks.

We were joined by DEAR FRIEND Richard.  Much to our delight, he brought an old friend Connie, who we adore!  We had lovely time!
