Our Daily Visitors

These guys come to visit each day.  Recently, we had some leftover milk from a recipe or something, so decided to see if my kids liked it.

Within moments, they knocked over the bowl and "went to town".

Sadly, Dom has told me "Do NOT start buying them milk!  You buy them enough French Bread!  They're ANIMALS!".

Really, gang-  they give me so much delight!

Our Animal Kingdom

Dom and I have lived here in extremely rural Southern Mississippi for close to 30 years.

We've always had a dog or two.

When he was diagnosed with cancer, our pal "Miss Trouble" passed away of old age.  (It's as though she knew what was going on).

The 2 of us moved to Metairie, LA for 6 months to be close to the Tulane Cancer Center.

When Dom went into complete remission, we bought the condo in Panama City Beach.  Haven't had a puppy since. Caring for a dog no longer fits our lifestyle.

NOW, we have families of deer and raccoon!

Mamma "Rochelle" brings her 3 little ones to feast daily.  I've been making them cornbread and sweet potatoes. All but the runt will eat out of my hands.  She's getting closer and closer.

We've got a few more raccoon, but they're not so friendly....just hungry!

Dom woke me up yesterday morning to see 6 deer eating corn right outside the door.  Unreal.

So, as much as we miss having dogs, this is a fun change!

Katrina.... 9 years later.

We had a blast yesterday.  Dennis and Chris came over, and we realized that it was the 9th anniversary of Katrina.  (We were all together here when the eye of the hurricane passed over us).  We spent DAYS together.

Spent hours drinking beer and reminiscing, laughing and telling tales.

I made Trout Amandine for dinner.  (Speckled trout from my Cajun pal, Vickie).  Martinis flowed.... what a day/night!

Big fun!  It was so nice to have my 3 favorite boys together!

(I sure wish that we would have taken pictures nine years ago....but maybe not!)

Fun With My PCB Gang ..... again!

Had another great 2 weeks on the beach.  This time around, pal Patricia drove in from Tennessee.

Just as she arrived, Keith and Lauren came over.....we had great fun playing ladder golf, swimming in our crystal-clear water, and having a grand time.

The highlight of the night was launching 7 or 8 "trance lanterns" .  The crowd went wild.  They were a big hit.  I just ordered twenty more.  (as well as an Amazon Fire TV, now that we finally have a good strong internet connection!)

During her visit, we were joined by my pal Jamison....a bartender across the street at Beach Bar and Package.

We hung out at the usual haunts.... Dee's Hangout is our favorite.  Had a wonderful dinner, as usual.  I finally snagged a picture of the owner, Brenda.  She's an absolute doll, as is her husband Dee.  Dee's Hangout  I can't recommend this place enough!

I was given a gift certificate for a sushi restaurant.  We had a delicious meal.  I was absolutely uncomfortably full from my spicy tuna roll.  Our charming waiter asked if we would like dessert.  I groaned, and said, "no more room, honey".  He smiled and walked away.

A few minutes later he said that he had just gotten a shipment of delicious oranges and put a plate down in front of me.  Yep..... Miss Piggy polished it off!

After Patty went home, I stuck around another 4 days and enjoyed the water.  I was so pleased..... other years, mid July and August brought alot of seaweed.  Not this year.  It was very minimal, and was just at the shoreline.

As much as it pained me to leave, I had to get home for Dom's birthday.  We had wonderful filets, mushrooms and baked potatoes.  Along with a visit from this little girl...... first time we've seen her without her mother.  My raccoon buddies are getting jealous!

Our Adorable New "Puppy" (As Dominic calls it)

(Mom and Dad)
We're tickled that they're bringing the little one right up to the house.
