My brother Rick flew in for 3 nights.
On the way home from the airport we went for a late lunch at The Chimes in Covington. Lovely place. Great food.
On Friday morning the two of us went to a local Nissan Dealer. Hours later, drove home with my new Nissan Rogue Sport!
Stopped at Fatty's in Picayune for another late lunch. I love that place!
Saturday we talked about old times and had a pleasant day. Lunch at Crossroads Seafood near our house.

Super Bowl Sunday Fun Day
Joe and Carina drove in from Pensacola for the night. I cooked an 18# Country Ham from a pal in Kentucky. I also made Siracha Deviled Eggs, Loaded Potato Salad, Cream Cheese and Pepper Jelly. Made my first attempt at Tiramisu. It was delicious!
Joe brought over some Cleveland Mustard and a bottle of Peppermint Schnapps.
Sadie was in HEAVEN with all of the attention that she received!

Have I Mentioned That Sadie Likes to Chew? (Everything in Sight)
Well... Dom and I have been together for 35+ years. It took him about 34 years to convince me to quit running around barefoot outside.
I finally broke down and got a super-comfortable pair of plastic "sandals" on the internet.
I wear them outside faithfully.
A couple of days ago I left them outside... YEP.
So... I bought a new pair of cheap sandals at Walmart yesterday. After all of these years (close to 10, maybe?) I'm going to have to retrain myself to living with a dog. Especially a "puppy".
Yeah... We're still CRAZY ABOUT HER!

Sadie Has a Boyfriend!
Our little fellow Jagger is in LOVE with her. They kiss a few times a day. When we're outside playing with Sadie, Jagger comes running over.
Jada BARELY tolerates her.

Sexy Sadie has been Spayed
We're head over heels with our Sadie. She's a real mess. Chews everything, very destructive, but when she looks at us with those sad eyes, we melt.
Took her to get spayed yesterday. When we picked her up she was higher than a kite.
She slept for most of the afternoon on the living room floor and then came into our bedroom for the night.
She woke up as playful as ever.
They had given us a collar to prevent her from ripping her staples. That went over like a lead balloon.

Sexy Sadie is OURS!
We took our Sadie to the Vet's office on Tuesday. NO CHIP! NO HEARTWORMS! (although, there'll be a 4-month window to confirm).
She got all of her shots. She's OURS!
Doc said that she's about a year old and whoever dropped her off, took the name off of her collar.
Dom got her a kennel yesterday. She was hesitant to go in, but when she finally did enter, she went right to her new box. (She had been taking over the cats box on the picnic table).
She'll be spayed in a couple of weeks.
She chews everything in sight. An old pair of my tennis shoes has been destroyed.
She hasn't had an accident in the house and has slept in our bedroom the past two nights.
We've got a feeling that "that dog don't hunt", so they got rid of her.
She's very content here. As are we!

Meet our SEXY SADIE!
This little doll appeared at our place about 10 days ago. She's a LOVE.
We haven't had a dog for 9 years since our Trouble passed away.
After some googling, we've determined that she's a Redtick Coonhound, AKA American English Coonhound.
I'm thinking that she's a puppy, as she's chewing everything in sight!
She's stolen our hearts. Already housebroken, very friendly, and loves to be in the house. (I let her sleep in my guest room bed with me Friday night!)
Sadly, my raccoons don't come around anymore. I strategically place their bread on the branches of trees.
We're going to get her into our Vet next week. Check for a chip, heartworms, then if all is well, have her spayed and on heartworm medication.
