A Short Visit From my Big Brother

My brother Rick flew in for 3 nights.

On the way home from the airport we went for a late lunch at The Chimes in Covington.  Lovely place.  Great food.

On Friday morning the two of us went to a local Nissan Dealer.  Hours later, drove home with my new Nissan Rogue Sport!

Stopped at Fatty's in Picayune for another late lunch.  I love that place!

Saturday we talked about old times and had a pleasant day.  Lunch at Crossroads Seafood near our house.

Another Visit With our Christine! FUN, FUN, FUN!

Christine flew into town for a couple of weeks on Tuesday afternoon.  We rented her a car.  It's a pleasant change to have a "driver".

On Wednesday, we dropped off Dom at Physical Therapy and headed over to Yo Yo's for a couple of beers, bean dip, chips, and salsa.

Picked up a gallon of eggnog daiquiris on the way home.

We had a great time on Thursday.  The three of us went to The Chimes in Covington.  https://www.thechimes.com/restaurants/3   It's a fun and scenic joint...sitting on the Bogue Falaya River.  Plenty of outdoor seating, as well as a beautiful walkway down to the river.

We "wheeled" Dom into the bar area.  The manager was going to bring a low table for us.  I told him that Dom could manage the high-top.  Sure enough...he got out of that transport chair (THANKS, Rondi!!!!) and hopped up onto the tall chair!

This is a great place with great food and a huge beer selection.  I'm a boring Miller Lite gal, but Christine indulged in some local beer.

Lunch was great!  MENU

Dom had the "Chimes Club".  LOVED IT

Christine had a salad and a bowl of Tomato/Basil/Crabmeat soup.  LOVED IT

I got my usual... a Jalapeno Bacon Burger.  LOVED IT.

This is a "Must Stop" every time we're in Covington.

When we left there, we headed across the street to Rouse's.  (A local chain).  We picked up crab legs, lobster tails and champagne for our 29th wedding anniversary on Dec. 2nd.  (today!!!)

It was a fun, fun day!

A Fun Visit With Our Christine and Troy

We have been going non-stop for weeks....  Last Thursday, Christine and Troy flew into NOLA and stayed overnight in the French Quarter.

We picked them up on Friday, did some grocery shopping, then went to The Chimes in Covington for lunch.

Saturday we had lunch at Crossroads Seafood down the road.

On Sunday, her pal Nicole came over for the night.  I made about 4 pounds of BBQ Shrimp.

Monday, we took a drive up to Hattiesburg and had lunch at O'Charley's.

Dropped them off at the airport on Tuesday.

Fun, fun, fun!

Rosaryville and The Chimes- A Great Day

We had a very pleasant day on Wednesday.  We took the Corvette out and cruised country roads.

Our first stop was Rosaryville in Pontchatoula, LA.  A gorgeous property, loaded with HUGE pines and Live Oaks.

We strolled around the 2 cemeteries.  One was for nuns of the Dominican Order, and the other, for Dominican Friars.

Also stopped at the stations of the cross.  Very serene!

Hopped back in the car and took back roads to Covington and stopped at The Chimes for a late lunch.  LOVE that place!

Had to put the top up and the air conditioning on as it hit 92 degrees!
