12 Days on the Beach- and my New Raccoon Family

Hi, gang!  As Dom is getting along so well, I felt comfortable enough to head to PCB for 12 days.

I was joined by a Tennessee girlfriend, Patricia for about a week.  She and I lived it up with gift cards given to me for Carrabba's and Seafood Grill.  She took me to Dee's Hangout twice.  We had big fun-  hadn't seen each other for more than a year.  It goes without saying that we did Happy Hour at the LIQ across the street daily.

After she left, I spent my solitude on the beach, at the pool, and on my balcony.  Didn't even leave the condo property.

The water was AMAZING!  Some of the nicest that I've seen over the years!

Rain Shower in the Distance

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Mama Raccoon brings her 4 babies every day for a meal.  When I'm home, I'm constantly looking out the window for them.  "Good Racoon Mommy".

When I'm not here, Dom feeds them when he thinks about it.  "Bad Raccoon Daddy".

The female normally knocks on the door to alert me that they're hungry.  Apparently, she was knocking and not getting a response.  So, Dom is sitting across the room watching tv.  Our of the corner of his eye, doesn't he see feet, then finally a head climbing up the screen window in the living room!

The adorable little shit knocked out the screen!

Dom proceeded to find a squirt gun, crack the window and blast her in the face.
"Mean Raccoon Daddy".  (Kind of amusing, though)

New Raccoon Kids and Some Gorgeous Sunsets

Mama FINALLY brought her 3 kids for a visit.  They're THISCLOSE to eating out of my hand.  They watch intently as I feed their mama.

This is the 5th or 6th generation for us.  Looking back, the babies always appear in threes in Mid-July.  They give me such great pleasure.

Mama hates these hot summer months, as she can't get my attention.  We keep the a/c on and the house closed up.  Spring and Fall, we have the house open to get a breeze through the screen doors.  We'll be watching TV and hear a "rap rap rap".  It's my girl knocking on the screen door on her back legs looking in.

Sadly with the doors closed, we can't hear her knocking.  (Thus, I'm constantly getting up and peeking out the window)

We've been having KILLER sunsets this past week.  Glorious!

Our Daily Visitors

These guys come to visit each day.  Recently, we had some leftover milk from a recipe or something, so decided to see if my kids liked it.

Within moments, they knocked over the bowl and "went to town".

Sadly, Dom has told me "Do NOT start buying them milk!  You buy them enough French Bread!  They're ANIMALS!".

Really, gang-  they give me so much delight!

A Fun Visit With Our Christine and Troy

We have been going non-stop for weeks....  Last Thursday, Christine and Troy flew into NOLA and stayed overnight in the French Quarter.

We picked them up on Friday, did some grocery shopping, then went to The Chimes in Covington for lunch.

Saturday we had lunch at Crossroads Seafood down the road.

On Sunday, her pal Nicole came over for the night.  I made about 4 pounds of BBQ Shrimp.

Monday, we took a drive up to Hattiesburg and had lunch at O'Charley's.

Dropped them off at the airport on Tuesday.

Fun, fun, fun!

A New Generation of Raccoons

My favorite little girl showed up over the weekend to introduce her little ones!  They're the 3rd or 4th generation of this family.  Adorable!

The 3 kids are shy, but watched their mom and I interact from a tree.  They'll be eating out of my hand in no time at all!

Fun With Christine and Troy in the French Quarter

Our Christine and her Troy came for a fun visit last month.  Unfortunately, dummy (ME) left her camera in my hotel room in the French Quarter.  Much to my delight, the cleaning lady had turned it in to the front desk.

Just got it back yesterday.

As always, we stayed at The Prince Conti

We went to our usual joints...... The Deja Vu, Johnny Whites, Harry's Corner.  We also went into Richard Fiske's Martini Bar in the Chateau LeMoyne Hotel....the same folks that originally had the Bombay Club.  Lovely place...felt like home.  Another neat place whose name escapes me.  **Just found out it was http://801royal.com/   Thought you guys would like to see a picture...the hanging light was GORGEOUS!

Check out the light!
