Biloxi VA Hospital and The Shed BBQ/Blues in Gulfport

Hi gang-

We had a VERY pleasant day.  Left here around 7am, with Dom's IV drip all hooked up.  Pulled over into a parking lot in Biloxi.  Waited for the cops to show up as we both put on our masks, flushing his lines, wrapping his pic line with that stretchy stuff.  Too funny.  Must have looked like we were getting high.

Had a 10:30 appointment with Dom's VA Oncologist, Ginger Rogers, MD.  Really.

She's a little doll.  Very likeable and got very excited for us after telling her that the transplant/apartment was right around the corner.  Asked us to fax her bloodwork, or just call to say how he was doing.  She was probably about the 50th person to tell Dom that he was "LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL LOVING WIFE".  Our patient is growing rather weary of all of the accolades directed towards yours truly.

Left there and stopped at THE SHED.... a BBQ/Blues joint in Lyman, MS.  (North of Gulfport)  They were celebrating their one year anniversary... turns out they were on the Today Show this morning... (raving about their BBQ).  Cute, cute place.

Sat at the bar.... ice cold beer.  I had a 1/2 pound brisket sandwich topped with cole slaw.  Dom had the Red Beans and Rice with Sausage special of the day.  Delicious.  Too bad it's so far away from our home.  We've passed this joint many times.... glad we finally stopped.  (Got out of there for about 30 bucks with plenty of leftovers for dinner)

Theoretically, we're "done" with medical stuff until his Aredia transfusion next week.

He's got 3 more days of antibiotic drip, that will hopefully knock out this staph infection.

All in all, it's been a great couple of days!
